"I must tell you that the pain that I thought I would experience was virtually
non-existent... This really surprised me and made me wish that I had consulted with you years earlier."

The enitire office was designed and
custom built by Dr. Yen, solely for a very specialized prosthodontic
practice. Emphasis was placed on providing a facility that was clean but
not sterile feeling, comfortable and efficient with the latest in dental
and laboratory equipment technology.

COMFORT
We understand that not many, if any,
people find dentistry enjoyable, but we can certainly try to make it safe,
comfortable, and pleasant.
For
your comfort, we provide many amenities: neck pillows, blankets, heated
orthopedic massaging mats, and on demand music from our CD collection.
Categories of music available include: classical, new-age jazz,
contemporary, vocals, and country.

PAIN
ELIMINATION
The
discomfort with traditional dental anesthesia has been virtually
eliminated with the latest addition of the WAND.
The WAND is a computerized dental
anesthetic delivery system that has received rave reviews from all the
patients because of its lack of discomfort. Using a very tiny needle and a
constant flow rate, controlled by the machine, the patient hardly feels
the anesthetic as it is being delivered, unlike with the traditional
syringe.

ON-SITE
LABORATORY
Since Dr. Yen does most of the laboratory
work himself, he has built out an ultra-modern laboratory that can
accommodate most prosthodontic needs. It allows him to provide important
services like denture relines and repairs while the patient waits rather
than sending it out to a lab.

When
labs are used, only the highest quality ones are utilized and Dr. Yen
remains in constant communication with the technologist (who has been
selected based on his or her additional training/expertise). The lab
microscope is used whenever possible to examine the prosthesis before the
prosthesis is delivered to the patient.
No work is accepted until the doctor is
completely satisfied with it. Occasionally, this may mean a need to
reschedule the delivery appointment, but Dr. Yen will not compromise on
the quality of the restorations delivered to his patients. In addition,
the patient's esthetic requests are directly communicated to the lab
technologist by photos, lip impressions and verbal communication. Where
indicated, the lab technologist will even come to the office for direct
visualization and discussion of the patient's needs.

CUTTING
EDGE TECHNOLOGY
Dr. Yen strongly believes that the
professional is a student for life and this concept of Kaisan or continued
self improvement permeates his entire office. Continued education is a
foremost priority. He and his staff attend numerous seminars throughout
the year to learn the latest technology with which to bring to his
patients ever increased level of care and sophistication of treatment.
The
dental office is equipped with CDR (computerized digital radiography), in
which x-ray images are captured on digital sensors rather than the
traditional film. This allows a 90% reduction in the amount of radiation
the patient is exposed to because of the extreme sensitivity of the
sensors. The images are then projected on computer monitors which allow
very large magnification of the images. This not only allows better
visualization for the doctor but also gives the opportunity for the
patient to see and understand what the x-rays show.
In addition, the office is equipped with
an intra-oral camera that allows the patient direct visualization of his
or her condition. This has been a wonderful educational tool because it
helps the patient see what the doctor sees, and understand what is going
on. Dr. Yen strongly believes in having the patient as equal partners in
the diagnosis and subsequent planning of their treatment.
He
utilizes x-rays, intra-oral photos, and models to assess the presented
situation, and then to come up with some solutions. In explaining the
available treatment options, more visual aids are utilized, so that the
patient becomes completely educated about his or her condition following
the consult. Again, education is a big priority for the patients when they
see Dr. Yen.
