Dr. Yen’s office staff is unique in their approach to patient care: they understand that the service and quality provided by this office is unmatched, and yet they constantly strive to improve on themselves.

They have invested hundreds of hours in continuing education to update their skills and knowledge of advanced dental procedures, as well as service oriented seminars. They are a self-motivated group of individuals who have dedicated themselves to providing a caring, safe, and comfortable environment respecting each patient’s unique needs.

VILMA "VI" CAPIENDO, DMD, RDA
I have been in the field of dentistry for over 20 years. I graduated from Lyceum Northwestern Dental School, Philippines in 1985, and moved to California in 1993.

I am also a registered dental assistant and am well versed in the various aspects of dental care unique in the field of prosthodontics and advanced reconstructive dentistry. I am bilingual in English and Tagalog (Philippine native language).

My duties include making impressions, fabricating provisionals, and reassembling implant components. I am also trained in doing certain laboratory procedures--by keeping these steps in-house, Dr. Yen ensures a consistent standard in the prostheses that are fabricated.

I am a mother of an 18-year-old honor student and a precious 2-year-old daughter. I am here to help make your dental visit as pleasant as possible.

JOYCE KRANIG-ROCKWOOD
I join Michele and Bernadette as one of the front office team members. A native Texan, I started my dental career with Dr. Yen 13 years ago and I don't mind the 41 mile commute because I enjoy being part of Dr. Yen's team.

I love spending time with my beautiful little granddaughter, and love fly fishing, going out on my boat, reading, taking exotic trips, and dining out.

I am a graduate of the PSI Seminars and director of JK Marketing. No question is too small, no request too large. I am here to help should you need anything during your visit.

MICHELE SMITH
I was born in Ohio and grew up in Mesa Arizona. I moved to Long Beach, California to marry my husband Dan. I have one son, Christian, who recently graduated from Lakewood High School. Until his graduation, I was very involved in high school football activities. My hobbies include reading, watching movies and shopping.

I spent 30 years in the banking industry before beginning a new career in the dental field with Dr. Yen in January 2005.

I look forward to a long and rewarding career as part of Dr. Yen's dynamic team.
